Pre-Season Bonding + Events
The biggest story ramping up to the 2023-24 season was the return of #50 Ayoka Lee - the All-American, NCAA Single-Game scoring record holder who had to miss the 2022-23 season due to a knee injury. At Big 12 Media Day, reporters swarmed around Yokie everywhere she went.

Non-Conference
Non-Conference showed a lot of doubters what K-State was made of. The second week of the season, the 'Cats traveled up to Carver-Hawkeye to take on Caitlin Clark and #2 Iowa - almost exactly a year after K-State beat them in Manhattan. K-State's airtight defense held Iowa to the least points scored in the Caitlin Clark era.
Other notable wins were vs. #23 North Carolina and Mizzou.

Big 12 Conference
At the start of conference, K-State was up to #11 in the country and climbing - at one point in January, K-State and Iowa were both top-5 teams with losses only to each other. The team was battered and bruised - still a one-loss team, Head Coach Jeff Mittie announced that Yokie would have to sit for a month due to a foot fracture suffered during early conference play. With her recovering, the team suffered a few tough losses but secured the double-bye in the Big 12 Tournament.

Hosting March Madness
At the end of the Big 12 Tournament, the team fell to #16 and was on the cusp of hosting. Unlike many top Women's Basketball teams, they went into selection day unsure if they would get to stay home. Over 20,000 fans came to Bramlage to support the 'Cats - and despite a tough loss to Colorado in the Round of 32, a gritty K-State team showed that Women's Basketball has major support in Manhattan, Kansas.
